Christmas Tour Part 3, Living Room

christmas decorating with neutrals

I decided to stay neutral in the living room this year but I'm missing the red a little.

The biggest change in here from last year is the fireplace. I wanted a chunky wood mantle instead of the rock one we had, so we just slid a wood box over the existing one. Now I can not only fit more on the mantle but I can also hammer nails right in to it for the stockings.

For my thrifty tip in the living room, I cut off part of an Anthropologie throw that I have (shown below on the blue chair) and sewed two new stockings. Cheap and original. No one else will have these!

Some little details around the room...candles...

pine cones and antlers...

ornaments and crosses...

greenery and jingle bells...

and cozy throws.

It's finally cold enough for a fire around here. Time to curl up and watch a movie.
